Dr. Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam (1931-2015) was an Indian scientist, engineer, and politician who served as the President of India from 2002 to 2007. He was widely known as the "Missile Man of India" for his work on the development of ballistic missile technology in India.
Kalam was born in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, and studied physics and aerospace engineering. He worked for the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) before becoming the President of India.
Kalam was also a prolific writer and published many books, including "Wings of Fire", an autobiography that chronicles his life from childhood to his work on India's missile program.
